See you once again

Wouter Hamel is a Dutch Pop singer. He released his debut album Hamel in March 2007. Hamel's style has been compared to Jamie Cullum's. He has performed on several television shows and on the internationally-known North Sea Jazz Festival. His debut album, for which he wrote all of the twelve songs, was released to critical acclaim. In 2011, Hamel released his third album Lohengrin and also supported Caro Emerald on her tour in Germany.

In 2010, Menno Otten was asked to make the videoclip for the track See You once again, the videoclip was supported by the Dutch Tax Fund and produced by Goeroe Digital Media.

Statement Director

For Wouter Hamel's videoclip I wanted to explore the cinematic sensation of one of the oldest forms of moving images: the Zoetrope. The (fun) idea came to build a real physical Zoetrope, spin it around and create a spin of memories in which Wouter Hamel's friends spin along. Reference are made to one of my favorite experimental movies "Inferno" from Henri-Georges Clouzot.
